As a young girl growing up in Dallas, TX, I confidently dreamt of being a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, dancer, singer, veterinarian, lawyer or teacher. While there were many hardships to overcome, I was loved and inspired by my mother. The twist and turns of my life provided a scenic journey. While a junior in high school, we moved to Piqua, Ohio where I graduated a year earlier than expected. The next phase of my life began when I volunteered active duty for the US Air Force working in communications and computer systems and earning an Associate degree. During those early adult years, I became a wife and mother living in San Antonio, TX. The gift of motherhood has been the most important role of my life. Through a series of relocations, and divorce, I ended up back in Ohio where I met my husband, Brian McKnight. This was also when I went back to college to earn my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education at Wright State University while working full time in the technology industry. Once I finished my college education, I began my teaching career. I have taught Math, Science and STEM to hundreds of students in a variety of schools. Collaborating with teaching colleagues has created a far-reaching impact for students because education is a team effort. Brian and I have raised our beautifully blended family and pets in Centerville, OH. Our children, Gabriella, Alyssa, Dalton and Hannah continue to bring us pride and joy as they venture their own lives, partnerships and parenting. I did not become a NFL cheerleader, entertainer, veterinarian or lawyer. However, along the way of my life experiences, I have traveled, found friendships, and learned about humanity. As I embark my future as an author, I hope to share precious moments that inspire others to appreciate the scenic journey of life.
